After missing the first three games of the season, while recovering from a partial right hamstring tear, Iverson played only as a reserve against the Sacramento Kings. Iverson scored eleven points in less than 18 minutes. But his problem wasn’t with the scoring, it was his playing time.
According to ESPN’s website, Iverson was quoted as saying, “Go look at my resume and that will show you that I’m not a sixth man.” He went on to tell ESPN that it was nothing to do with selfishness.
Iverson said, “I don’t want to change what gave me all the success I’ve had since I’ve been in this league,” according to ESPN.
The Grizzlies lost to the Kings, 127 – 116. I get it you an ALL STAR player, but you just recoverd from an injury give the youngsters a chance and play your position.
